WELCOME

Welcome to our blogspot, which will tell you a little bit more about the croft known as Greenfield. We have added as many photos as possible to give you an idea about the buildings and land. Please have a look at the links to other sites to give you abit more of an idea about the island of Eday, the Orkney Islands and the wonderful life you can have here.

The croft consists of the original buildings, a few drystone walls (internal and boundary) and 10 acres of grassland. The buildings are about 55m above sea level and have fine views West over Cusbay, the islands of Pharay, Holm of Pharay, Westray, Rousay and in the distance, mainland Orkney. The sunsets are phenomenal, all year round.

The road on this side of Eday ends in a turning circle, and serves only about 10 properties, which are all well spaced apart. Subsequently it is a quiet part of the island.

We have been granted planning permission to renovate the croft buildings, install a wind turbine, water bore hole, reed bed etc. For details click on the following link:

We are selling Greenfield as when we decided to move to Eday we also bought another 10 acre croft which has a coastline, and we have decided to live there instead. At present we are renovating the croft buildings, and thoroughly enjoying living on the island, and all it has to offer.

If you would like more information about the property or the island and life here, please feel free to email us or phone us for a chat;
